米沢に新工場を設立するにあたり、安心して良品だけを高効率に作り続ける最先端のスマートファクトリー実現のため、必要なIoT技術やDX（デジタルトランスフォーメーション）ツールなど、米沢で雇用した社員たちと、挑戦と創造のトライ＆エラーを繰り返しながら、国内ものづくり会社のフラッグシップとなるシステムを米沢に作り上げました。そのことで生産性向上による付加価値額増加はもちろんですが、従業員１００％の定着や多くの視察者受け入れ（１年半で約４００人）など、社員の働く環境改善や新たな経済効果を生み出しました。今後、モノづくりのまち米沢の先導的なモデルとして、市内中小企業への展開も期待されるとともに、サスティナビリティにも積極的に取り組んでいることも評価されての受賞になります。

完全無農薬栽培米のほか、農林水産省が策定したガイドラインより厳しい基準を設定した特別栽培米、そして今年はそれをさらに厳しくした新たな挑戦をスタートさせるなど、自分たちが目指す安心安全、そして美味しいお米作りのために年々進化し続けています。また、上杉鷹山公の領民と農業を尊ぶ思いを大切にした米沢の米作りの文化や伝統を伝える活動や情報発信、お客様との季節ごとの交流、小中学校給食への無償提供を通して、美味しいお米を食べてもらうとともに、米沢の農業や米文化の大切さという食育活動など、高品質な米作りだけでなく、地域農業の未来のための運動体となっていることも評価されての受賞になります。なお、米沢稔りの会は、２度目の挑戦での受賞です。

Yonezawa Uesugi Sekiden Rice
In addition to producing completely pesticide-free rice, Yonezawa Minori no Kai Co., Ltd. has established stricter standards than the guidelines set by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries for specially cultivated rice. This year, they have also embarked on a new challenge by further tightening these standards. Year by year, they continue to evolve in their pursuit of safe, secure, and delicious rice production. Furthermore, they are dedicated to preserving and promoting the culture and traditions of rice farming in Yonezawa, which values the principles of Uesugi Yōzan, who respected both his people and agriculture. Through activities such as sharing information, engaging in seasonal exchanges with customers, and providing free rice to elementary and junior high school cafeterias, they not only aim to offer delicious rice but also contribute to food education, highlighting the importance of Yonezawa’s agriculture and rice culture. This award recognizes not only the high-quality rice they produce but also their efforts to become an active body working for the future of local agriculture. Yonezawa Minori no Kai won the award on their second attempt．

As a manufacturer of bedding, curtains, and other products, Silky Living Co., Ltd. has developed unique sewing structures, created products using Japan’s renowned hand-painted Yuzen dyeing techniques, and expanded into cleaning and renovation services. In addition to their focus on product uniqueness and the preservation of traditional techniques, they have consistently created new value in response to the era of sustainability. This reformation uses an original sewing method called ALDS which enhances comfort, and the fabric is treated with Zeotex processing, creating a healthy and hygienic sleep environment. resulting in a healthy and hygienic sleep environment. This initiative adds high value to high-quality materials unique to Yonezawa. Their philosophy and culture of cherishing products have been highly regarded, leading to this award. Silky Living has received this award on its third attempt.
